Our Style Guide UI was limited in clarity and options for users, and resulted in many workspaces having active style guide rules without realizing it. These style guide rules may have impacted the quality of their outputs, due to unexpected prompt injection. Rules that users thought were off but were actually injecting into prompts included:
The most notable place where many users saw this impact is in the “Use 2 spaces after period” rule, which was actually telling the Style Guide to “Use 1 space after period” when it was turned off. This resulted in major over-reporting of Style Guide violations in X-ray view in the Editor.
